The Indian Institute of Public Administration, Puducherry local branch is a 54 year old organization in Puducherry. In the past six years it has rededicated itself to the ideals of Administrative principles.

Propagating the best Administrative practices has been the main interest of the IIPA, Puducherry local branch. In this endeavor it has arranged ,conducted seminars, workshops and training on topics of wide ranging interests to a wide spectrum of participants comprising of Government Officers, staff and NGO's . IIPA looks forward to do its mite to train the staff of Puducherry Administration to ensure efficient public delivery systems.

The earnest belief that the future lies in the hands of the youth has persuaded IIPA to hold many of the seminars in the various colleges in Puducherry who would otherwise not be exposed to the knowledge dispensed if the students are confined to their regular courses. Some of the seminars were ahead of time and the concepts discussed then are now becoming everyday reality when one recalls the seminar on "Global Warming" . The scope of the subjects expounded were far beyond the reach of text books, media and even the editorials of the papers if we consider the seminar on "Internal Security" . While the experts were roped in from afar, IIPA has not hesitated to utilize the local resources in the spirit of sharing experiences for best management practices. IIPA has reasons to feel happy with the past four years as reported in the Overview. The IIPA's in other states function with grant sanctioned by the State Government. IIPA Puducherry, local branch has requested the Government of Puducherry for annual grant.
